After Care
💛 EYEBROW TATTOO AFTERCARE – BEAUTY BY BEE NOLA
The healing and final look of your brows will depend greatly on how you care for them over the next few weeks. Everyone’s skin heals differently based on your health, skin type, and how well you follow this guide.
🔒 IMPORTANT: DO NOT APPLY ANY OINTMENT OR SOAP FOR THE FIRST 2 FULL DAYS
Let the brows breathe and settle. This is crucial for both wet and dry healing clients unless your artist told you otherwise.
📌 DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT (DAY 0)
-
Blot with gauze or cotton rounds every 5–10 minutes for 30–60 minutes.
This removes lymph fluid and prevents hard scabbing. Keep blotting gently until the brows look dry.
(You’ll be given enough gauze/cotton rounds to do this—ask your artist if unsure how many.) -
No water. No sweat. No makeup. No touching.
Go straight home, avoid hot spaces, and protect your new brows. -
If your appointment ends late (after 8–9 PM), blot once more before bed.
Then follow the schedule below starting the next morning.
💧 DRY HEALING (If you were told you did not bleed)
Day 1–2:
→ DO NOT wash. DO NOT apply ointment. Keep the area clean, dry, and untouched.
→ Avoid getting brows wet unless told otherwise.
Day 3–7:
→ Keep dry
→ Apply thin layer of Aquaphor.
• Rice-grain amount •
Use Q-tip
• Spread gently across the brow
• Pat off excess (we want moisture, not smothering)
💦 WET HEALING (If you were told you did bleed during your procedure)
Day 1–2: DAYS 1–2 ✨ Keep brows dry — no touching, no sweating, no makeup, no water. ✨ Color will look bold at first — totally normal.
Day 3–7:DAY 3–10 (Clean + Moisturize Routine)
1️⃣ Wash hands first (20 seconds).
2️⃣ Clean brows using Cetaphil or CeraVe sensitive skin wash. • Lather in your hands first • Then gently use tiny circles on brows • No pressure — don’t lift scabs or flakes
3️⃣ Rinse using distilled water or a water bottle. (No faucet water.) • Pour or use a soaked cotton round • Remove all soap completely
4️⃣ Pat dry with a clean cotton round. No rubbing.
5️⃣ Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor. • Rice-grain amount • Use Q-tip • Spread gently across the brow • Pat off excess (we want moisture, not smothering)
🧼 GENERAL CLEANING TIPS (Both Healing Types)
-
Use distilled water (not tap) when rinsing.
-
Use a clean cotton round or your fingers—no washcloths.
-
No ointment on damp skin. Always dry first.
-
No Vaseline, Neosporin, Aquaphor, or petroleum unless specifically given by your artist.
⛔ AVOID DURING HEALING
-
No brow makeup, eyeshadow, shimmer powders, or mica-based products for 2 full weeks.
(Particles can enter open skin—even if applied elsewhere on the face.) -
No saunas, long hot showers, or workouts that make you sweat for 10 days.
-
No sun, tanning, lake water, hot tubs, or swimming for 10–14 days.
-
No facials, Botox, retinoids, or peels for 4 weeks.
-
Do not sleep on your face. Use a fresh pillowcase the first night.
-
No picking, rubbing, or scratching. Let scabs shed naturally.
🛁 SHOWERING TIPS
-
Limit showers to 5–7 minutes max for the first week.
-
Wash your body first, then shampoo last. This avoids rinsing hot water over brows.
-
Keep your face out of direct spray and pat it dry if it gets damp.
🧠 WHEN DOES HEALING OFFICIALLY START?
Day 0 = Appointment day
Day 1 = The next full calendar day
Example:
If your appointment ends at 8 PM on Monday, Tuesday is Day 1.
Day 3 = Thursday — that’s when you begin washing your brows.
💡 REALISTIC HEALING TIMELINE
Time frame: What to Expect
Days 1–3 Brows look darker and more defined. Some redness or tightness is normal.
Days 4–7 Light flaking or peeling may begin. Don’t pick. Let it shed naturally.
Days 8–14 Brows may appear patchy, faded, or uneven—this is normal.
Weeks 3–4 Pigment resurfaces and begins settling. True shape and color emerge.
Weeks 6–8 Fully healed! Touch-ups can now be booked if needed.
💋 LIP BLUSH + DARK LIP NEUTRALIZATION AFTERCARE
Please read carefully. Lip skin is delicate and prone to swelling, scabbing, and sensitivity. Proper aftercare is essential to achieve smooth, even-healed color.
DAY 0 (DAY OF PROCEDURE)
• Blot gently every 15–30 minutes with clean gauze or a soft tissue for the first 1–2 hours to absorb lymph fluid.
• Do not eat spicy, salty, or oily foods for the first 24 hours. Stick to soft, cool foods.
• Avoid hot drinks for the first day. Use a straw when possible.
• Lips may be tender, swollen, or bright in color. This is normal.
DAYS 1–3
• Continue blotting gently if lymph is present.
• Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor or your artist-recommended ointment every few hours or as needed to keep lips from drying or cracking.
• Do NOT let lips become dry or tight. Reapply as needed, especially after eating or drinking.
DAYS 4–10
• Lips may begin to peel or flake. Do not pick or scrub.
• Apply ointment 2–3 times per day or as needed.
• Continue to avoid spicy, acidic, or salty foods.
• No kissing, smoking, swimming, saunas, or makeup on the lips until peeling is complete and skin has closed.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Healed results may appear lighter or patchy at first. Full color blooms after 6–8 weeks.
• Dark lip neutralization may appear orange, red, or warm-toned during healing. This is part of the process—don’t panic.
• Avoid laser treatments or chemical peels near the lips for at least 4 weeks.
• Avoid lip filler for at least 4 weeks post-tattoo.
• Drink plenty of water and avoid licking your lips. Saliva can irritate healing skin.
• If you experience excessive swelling, oozing, or signs of infection, contact your artist or a medical professional.
🦠 COLD SORE REMINDER (REQUIRED)
Even if you’ve never had a cold sore, lip trauma can trigger an outbreak.
💊 You must take a preventative antiviral (Zovirax, Valtrex, or L-Lysine) before AND after your appointment.
👁️ EYELINER TATTOO AFTERCARE
The eye area is very sensitive. Slight swelling, tightness, and tenderness are expected. Your healed result will soften over time.
DAY 0 (DAY OF PROCEDURE)
• Eyes may feel swollen or puffy. Apply a cool, clean compress (not ice) for 10-minute intervals if needed.
• Do NOT apply ointment or eye drops unless instructed.
• Do NOT rub, wipe, or scratch your eyes. Use a fresh tissue to dab around the eye if needed.
DAYS 1–7
• Avoid water, steam, or sweating. Keep your eyes dry.
• Avoid eye makeup (mascara, liner, shadow) completely.
• Do not use lash serums or eyelash extensions.
• Avoid heavy creams or oils near the eyes.
• Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face.
HEALING EXPECTATIONS
• Liner may appear bold or dark at first.
• As healing progresses, pigment may fade by 30–50% and then bloom again over the next 4–6 weeks.
• Light peeling or flaking is normal. Do not pick or pull at skin.
• Some clients experience temporary blurred vision or watery eyes immediately after.
• No facials, lash extensions, chemical peels, or lash lifts for at least 3 weeks.
SAFETY NOTES
• No swimming, hot yoga, or saunas for 10 days.
• Wear sunglasses to protect healing skin when outside.
• If redness, oozing, or irritation increases after 48 hours, contact your artist or a medical professional.
